Paige and Abbie will be Trekking Mount Snowdon in order to fundraise for Black Minds Matter U.K. - an amazing charity whose mission is to connect Black individuals and families with free professional mental health services across the U.K. Specifically connecting black individuals with certified black therapists.

"Now more than ever, we understand the harmful effects of racial discrimination across the country. In fact, we consider it a state of emergency for the wellbeing of the Black community. Violence against Black individuals in the U.S. — like George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Elijah McClain to name a few — and the history of systemic racism here in the U.K., are deeply triggering realities for the Black community to be faced with on a daily basis. Add to that a health pandemic that disproportionately affects Black people, and a struggling NHS mental health service — and it’s not hard to see why a cause like Black Minds Matter U.K. was so needed." (Black Minds Matter UK, 2020)

The charity was founded by a friend in the wake of one of the biggest global protests in history. After the senseless and shocking death of George Floyd propelled the Black Lives Matter movement into the spotlight like never before, it was clear that there was a lack of support  in the U.K for those experiencing race-related/ racial trauma. So, for obvious reasons, the charity means a lot to us both.
